For many people, money is the main drive that propels them forward. But they forgot that money is just a piece of paper unless it is exchanged for goods and services.

Avoiding the things that drain you is another way to be a successful internet marketer. A marketer has to be focused. Therefore, exercising and eating healthily will contribute to your well being and grant you more energy.

As the old saying goes 20% of our efforts account for 80% of our results. We need to focus our energy on the things that could fetch us results instead of letting yourself get distracted.

Studies have shown for years that it is insanely impossible for people to become successful unless they find the formula.

They have two ways to do that:

1. Do it the hard way.

Read a lot of books. Go through the whole painful trial and error process.

There’s a major problem with that – Internet Marketing changes quickly and broadly because of the networking capabilities. One minute, they’re all headed right, the next, they’ve wheeled and are heading left.

2. The best education you can find is through a mentor.

You need to find someone who has already been in the market place for a while. Learn from them, ask them to coach you, as well as follow their full guidance.

While a mentor can’t do your homework for you or teach you everything you need to know, you have the benefit of the experience and wisdom of someone who’s walked the walk you are beginning.

Which one is easier?

Of course, I would rather have someone to coach me, kick my butt and tell me to do this, this, and that.

After I attended my first internet marketing workshop, I learnt the overview, some  tactics and strategies of internet business. However, when I wanted to launch my site (of course, there was a  long story to learn how to create a simple site), I did not know how to do it even I’ve bought the hosting account & registered a domain (honestly, I did not even know a software called FTP,  :oops: ).

At the beginning stages, you do not need an expensive hosting for your business. Instead, FOCUS on two things to consider for hosting account…

1. Allow for an unlimited amount of “Add on” domains AND gives you a separate “cpanel” for each domain.
2. Take into consideration the bandwidth and disk space you will need before deciding on the package to purchase.

What is “Add on” domains?
An addon domain allows you to reach a sub-domain when entering the name of the addon domain into a browser. This means that you can host additional domains from your account.

What is “cpanel”?
Cpanel is the control panel for your hosting to control and manage your files and site information.

What is bandwidth?
Bandwidth is the amount of data you need when people come to your website, download your products, watching videos, and etc.

What is disk space?
Disk Space is the amount of data you can store on your server.
As long as you focus your attention on these features, the rest of the features are NOT that important.

One of the biggest mistakes people make would be to use free services such as blogger to set-up their websites. They will tell you their website URL is http://________.blogspot.com.

If you look onto this URL carefully, this URL is focusing on the company named blogspot.com instead of advertise your business. This way, they are able to make the money by selling their companies to big online firms.

There was a man named Jimmy. He was a determined young man. He wanted to succeed in life. Jimmy was only 24 years old. He worked as a computer technician. He did ok, made a little money, but wanted much more!

Jimmy purchased a success book titled, “Think and Grow Rich!”…

He read the book but did not understand much of what was said. However, he heard about this book often and knew it was one of the best books ever written for achieving Riches!

Everyday after work, Jimmy read the book – over and over again. He also subscribed to various success magazines and often invested in success products.

Jimmy tried a few money-making-methods and made a few bucks here and there… nothing spectacular or life changing…

At one point, Jimmy decided he wanted to go into business for himself, and started his own computer repair shop. He went on a shoestring, borrowed some money from the bank, maxed out some credit cards, and eventually put the business out-of-business.

What gives?

He read all those books, studied all he could, but failed.

What’s next? He then goes and gets a job. However, something is pulling at Jimmy. He still believes he has what it takes and continues reading more success books.

Eventually, Jimmy finds himself attending a seminar where the speaker pitches him on a money-making-opportunity!

He decides to pursue this opportunity on the side, while working his business. He does ok, recruits some people, makes a little bit of money and tries to remain dedicated…

He recruited about 20 people into this business and has sold a few thousand dollars worth of products. All seems well. However, he spends a great deal of time helping those 20 people.

He hears all sorts of excuses as to why these people are not doing well themselves. One by one, he goes from 20 down to 19, 18, 15, 9, 3 and then none.

All of that work gone.

So, now he decides to move on and leave that opportunity behind…

A few years pass and Jimmy has kept learning, kept trying and kept failing…

Eventually, Jimmy cashes in! He eventually comes up with an idea he loves and has experience in, and this business just takes off! He’s making serious money now and is quite successful…Finally!

He’s done it. I guess you can say that his ship has come in… He looks back and smiles from ear to ear knowing that it was a journey getting where he is now. But, the journey was well worth it!

As Jimmy visits his parents, and drives up in his shinny new luxury car…

When I first started my online business, I jumped around from one thing to another and did not making any decisions. Time was simply just wasted until I learn to take consistent and focused actions.
